Dr. Naomi Steiner, developmental behavioral pediatrician, professor at Boston University and expert in the use of neurofeedback with school-age children, will meet with leaders of The Children’s Guild (TranZed Alliance) to plan The Guild’s use of neurofeedback to improve the academic and behavioral skills of its students.
Dr. Tigi Mersha and Dr. Ven Sriram, two professors from The University of Baltimore Business school contacted The Children’s Guild and asked to study our success as a not-for-profit organization. The business school has come to realize the financial impact of the not-for-profits on the economy and want to study what makes not-for-profits successful. The Children’s Guild has agreed to be studied.
Watchdog.org contributor, Moriah Costa published an article today about the opening of The Children’s Guild DC Public Charter School. She discusses our Monarch Academy Charter Schools; interviewing Maurine Larkin, Principal of our Glen Burnie Campus. Costa highlights the importance the TranZed Alliance places on both environment and student individualization; interviewing key leadership of The Children’s Guild, Andrew L. Ross, Ph.D., LCSW-C, President and CEO, along with Kelly L. Spanaghe, MA, Ed.S, Vice President of Special Education and Student Support Services.
Thanks to over 100 volunteers from the school, KaBOOM, BGE, local residents and The Children’s Guild, our students at Monarch Academy Baltimore have a new playground. The Baltimore Sun featured the day of the build in this weekends “Darkroom” section.
