Students from The Children’s Guild District of Columbia Public Charter School Honored in DC Water Poster and Poetry Contest!
Congratulations to our three seventh grade scholars from The Children’s Guild District of Columbia Public Charter School who excelled in the poetry side of the citywide contest: 2nd place (Nevaeh Jackson with “Clean Water for DC”), 3rd place (J’Kaiya Frazier with “Pollution is Getting Out of Hand”) and Honorable Mention (Keith Green-Clarke with “Save Our Water”).
The contest was in celebration of Drinking Water Week 2018, with the theme, “Protect the Source.” Students in DC, in grades 7-12, were encouraged to explore where their water comes from and to explore creative ways to ensure the health of our watersheds.
Entries were judged on originality, creativity, and reflection of the theme.
